T8 went through the 2018 #UTMB finisher list and we tip our truckers to Slovakia, Thailand, Paraguay, Croatia and the Philippines for achieving +85% finisher rates, well ahead of the 69% race average. Note we only plotted countries with five or more runners.
We tested a few theories, looking for correlations between finisher rates and that country's average ITRA score (r=0.02), average temperature (r=-0.10) and elevation (r=-0.18), but really there wasn't any rhyme or reason. Just looks like those countries were better trained, more determined or just luckier on the day. Whatever it is, chapeau!! #T8run#trailrunning #ultrarunner
