Sizing: These are unisex design so men should wear their regular Sherpa size, while women should size down (eg. women's M = unisex S). The extra secure waistband will initially feel tighter but relax over time. We use Asian sizing, which can be up to half a size smaller than western sizing. Size Guide
Bonus Offer: Sherpas are designed with no inner liner so pair with our T8 Commandos Running Underwear for a super comfy, guaranteed chafe-free experience. Order multiple T8 products with discount code 10FOR2 for 10% off.
Very comfortable, but heavier than the originals
The new shorts are notably more comfortable and better fitting than the original Sherpa, and they are great for carrying a lot of gear. The new fabric with the holes is also much more comfortable and airy; I really love it! I look forward to using these on my long training runs because they're so comfortable compared to the originals. However, there has been quite a big weight gain between the original Sherpa vs the new Ultra Sherpa. The thick padding in the back is quite heavy (imo, unnecessarily thick/heavy), and contrary to the description, the pole holders are not removable unless you cut them off. As much as I love the improved fit and fabric, the weight gain is too much for me unless I intend to use all of the features of the short without a vest. Would love to see the original Sherpas updated with the new shorts fabric and improved fit for those of us who don't need so many features in a short.
Awesome!
I bought these shorts just in time for a 40M race in the mountains of Colorado on August 31 (re: The Grand Traverse - Crested Butte to Aspen over multiple 12,000'+ highpoints). The goal being "vest avoidance" - carry the necessary in the shorts. They worked perfectly! (I'm submitting pics to T8 in hopes they can publish). While I have achieved this same goal in the past with a different brand of shorts, the key difference is the T8 have the drawstring in the waistband that the other brand does not, which eliminates the bounce of a full 500ml flask. I cannot stress enough how significant this is. Added to the other various features of the shorts such as the race bib attachment system (used) and pole attachment system (used for the alternate purpose of clipping my pet Fox (stuffie) for the journey), and you have a winner! If you're looking to ditch the vest and run your best, look no further, you won't be disappointed. All that said, I do have one complaint - they currently only come in one color scheme! While I'm fine with that scheme, I'd buy more if more colors were available (re: gunmetal grey or "Caribbean blue" would be great for starters ). Thanks for making such a great product! Oops, and before I forget, I originally ordered the size indicated by the sizing chart, but found them a little too skimp for me. So I reordered the next size up as is suggested in the YT review of these shorts, and I like the fit better.
Best short ever
I have been using the brand for 3 years now, and I've been trying shorts from all the known brands (nike, adidas, compressport, asics, rabbit...) but none of them can come even close to the T8 shorts. It is always my none negociable go to short for races and most of my training, and now with all the upgrades in the ultra sherpa short (change in fabric material, more belt space, pole holders...) I'm more then happy to say Welldone T8! My only advice would be to make other colors also. It would be much appreciated!
